Two hours from the city, a quiet house in the mountains
★ 4.9 · 120+ Google reviewsLa Casa de Loto is a semi-silent Buddhist meditation and yoga retreat in the mountains above Guatapé, about two hours from El Poblado and 80 minutes from Medellín International Airport. Surrounded by forest, birdsong, and fresh spring water, it is a place to slow down after the energy of the city.
Each day includes guided open awareness meditation, ninety minutes of Hatha yoga and pranayama, and three wholesome vegetarian meals. With no more than eight guests at a time, the retreat stays quiet, intimate, and personal.
Mornings begin at 7 a.m. with guided open awareness meditation, followed by ninety minutes of Hatha yoga and pranayama. Breakfast and lunch are shared in silence, and at midday you sit quietly with your own mind.
Afternoons are free for walks through the forest, swimming in the spring water, a massage, or simply resting, before tea, evening meditation, and dinner by the fire.
Afternoons are free, and the colorful town of Guatapé is just a seven-minute tuk-tuk ride away. The famous rock, El Peñol, is about fifteen minutes away.
Many guests visit on their arrival or departure day, or on a free afternoon after the morning silence.
