Book Retreat
Turn Inward and Reconnect With Yourself

La Casa de Loto is a semi-silent meditation and yoga retreat hidden in the mountains of Guatapé, surrounded by forests, birdsong, fresh spring water, and breathtaking views. Our life here follows a simple contemplative rhythm, much like a shukubō, the Japanese tradition of temple stays.
Each day is shaped by open awareness meditation as taught by Dzogchen master Dudjom Rinpoche, two hours of traditional Hatha yoga and pranayama, optional silent sittings, and periods of noble silence. The rest of the time is yours.
Walk through the mountains, read, enjoy a massage or sauna, take a cold plunge in the creek, or simply rest in the practice of non-doing. With a maximum of ten guests, La Casa de Loto remains intimate, quiet, and personal.
You can arrive on any day, with a minimum stay of three nights. This is not a program to complete, but a place to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself.
Pema (Tibetan for "Lotus") is a Buddhist meditation teacher and yogi with over fifteen years of dedicated practice, primarily within the Dzogchen teachings of the Dudjom Tersar lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Over the years, he has studied and practiced with teachers including the Dalai Lama, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, and his teacher, Loppon Jigme Rinpoche. In 2016, he founded La Casa de Loto, creating a place where guests could experience the quiet rhythm of traditional retreat life in a simple and accessible way, and discover the peace and clarity that meditation can reveal.
Most meditation asks you to do something — follow the breath, repeat a mantra, hold your attention on a single point.
Each day includes a two-hour Hatha Yoga and breathwork class — gentle, alignment-based practices drawn from the Indian & Tibetan traditions.
In a world full of noise, Noble Silence is a conscious choice to abstain from communication, held each morning until 2pm.
Wholesome vegetarian meals made with local, seasonal ingredients and prepared with love — breakfast and lunch in Noble Silence, dinner shared in conversation.
